Freya 1000

Freya has mastered something the rest of us are still working on: keeping a perfectly straight face when things are about to get interesting. One moment, she's watching over her frozen kingdom. The next, a sword is raised, a wheel is spinning, and the quiet North suddenly has quite a lot going on.

Pragmatic Play introduces Freya 1000, a Norse mythology-inspired online slot with five reels, three rows and 20 paylines.

This online casino game has an RTP of 96.50%, and a maximum win of 10,000x the bet. Volatility is listed as high which means quieter spins may require patience, while the possibility of larger rewards gives the game its unpredictable rhythm. Learn about volatility by clicking HERE.

And Freya? She seems perfectly comfortable with all of it. Perhaps that's one of the advantages of being the Queen of Winter.

Theme and Symbols

Snow-covered houses glow beneath the Northern Lights, mountains surround the village, and Freya stands beside the reels wearing golden-blue armour and a winged crown. Her electric-blue eyes are difficult to ignore, especially when she turns towards the player before raising her sword.

Norse mythology gives her plenty of character. Freyja is associated with beauty, magic, wealth and war, a combination that suits this regal warrior.

The reels feature white wolves, Viking longships, drinking horns, necklaces and card-rank symbols. Freya appears as the Wild, substituting for regular symbols to help create winning combinations.

Shield Money Symbols carry prizes worth up to 40x the total bet. Landing one or two shields can activate reel nudges, moving the reels upwards or downwards to reveal additional shields.

Then there's the Wheel symbol. Each one awards a separate spin of the prize wheel, offering cash prizes up to 20x, multipliers reaching 1,000x or entry into a bonus round.

Freya's sword serves as the wheel's pointer. Apparently, even deciding someone's fortune requires a suitably royal accessory.

Betting Options and Special Features

Bets range from $0.10 to $240.00, with Normal, Quick and Turbo Spins available. Autoplay provides another way to manage the pace.

The prize wheel can award six regular Free Spins or six to twelve Super Free Spins, depending on the outcome.

Both bonus modes make the shields particularly interesting. When at least one Money Symbol appears on a reel, the entire reel fills with shields. Money Symbols may also randomly award three extra spins, while Wheel symbols can deliver multipliers of up to 1,000x.

During regular Free Spins, multipliers awarded by the wheel are added together and applied to the current win when a Wheel symbol appears.

Super Free Spins introduce a persistent multiplier. Each awarded multiplier adds to the running total, which remains active throughout the feature. On spins containing a Wheel symbol, it can boost qualifying wins, including Money Symbol prizes.

Players can also choose the Buy Bonus feature, with three options offering direct entry into regular or Super Free Spins.

Conclusion

This online slot is a good match for players who enjoy Norse mythology, high-volatility slots and bonus features with substantial multiplier potential. Its winter setting brings atmosphere, while shields, reel nudges and the prize wheel keep the gameplay interesting.

Compared with other Pragmatic Play releases, Freya 1000 follows its own path through shield prizes, a bonus wheel and two Free Spins modes.

Freya remains the picture of royal composure, watching over her frozen kingdom as though every surprise were entirely expected.

After all, a true Queen of Winter knows exactly what lies beneath the ice.
