Something we've seen before in the online slot industry is a game centered around a country as a theme. The Royal Wins slot, available at Booming Games casinos, uses a British theme, but it's done in a way that we can't imagine has been done before. This British theme is tied in with a set of neon graphics on a black background, and there are classic slot elements tied into the concept as well. This creates a visual experience that's much different than what players will be used to overall, and this helps to cover up the somewhat bland gameplay.
Slot Format
The format of this game gives you a solid foundation for your experience, but it doesn't exactly break out of any mold. You'll have five vertical reels, three horizontal rows and 20 adjustable paylines. Make sure that you keep the number of paylines at the maximum of 20. Failure to do so will lower your RTP, which means your average wins will be lower, and your average losses will be higher.
Betting is pretty simple, however, and it's set up in a way that we think is best for players. You simply choose from how much you want to bet per turn with a range that goes from $0.20 to $100 per spin. It's intuitive and easy to use, and you don't have to mess around with coin sizes or line bet wager amounts.
Wild Big Ben Symbol
Big Ben is the wild symbol. What you'll notice about it is that it's lit up in neon lights with purple and yellow circles around it. It also always says four o'clock for whatever reason. Five of a kind of this wild earns 50x. You can also pick up 20x for four of a kind or 2x for three of a kind. This is a pretty solid deal since you'll only get the wild payout for three or four if those symbols can't be used to make a higher-paying combination for four or five of a kind, respectively. They also help you to get other wins by showing up on every reel.
Scattered Bus Symbol
The red bus lit up in neon lights is the scatter in this game, and it's also responsible for the jackpot payout. Five of a kind gives you 2,000x, which is the highest-paying prize in the entire game. It's a really good deal as well because they don't have to appear on a payline to give you a win. Four of a kind pays out 50x, and you can even earn 10x for just three anywhere on the game board. This is the most important symbol in this slot.
Free Spins Mode
Picking up any scatter payout with three of a kind or more awards you with a set of 10 free spins. There's nothing particularly special about these free spins, but you can get an opportunity to re-trigger the feature when you pick up an additional three buses during those free spins. This will add 10 more free turns to your total.
Top Payouts and Wins
There are three different lucky seven symbols. They all appear with the flag in the background, but they are red, light-blue or white around the edges. They each pay 10x for five of a kind of any particular one of them. The guard gives you 5x, as does the Underground symbol, for five of a kind of either. Finally, the umbrella and rain cloud symbols are worth 2.5x each for five-of-a-kind combinations.
Something you'll notice about the rest of the pay table here is that there are really only three tiers of symbols. This makes it really easy to mentally keep up with what all of the payouts are. There are only a few symbols other than the sevens, the wild and the scatter, so you can actually memorize the pay table in just a couple of moments if you are so inclined.
Overview
The Royal Wins slot is a title by Booming Games that has a pretty unique theme and visual concept. However, the gameplay is so-so without much in the way of features, and it has the most standard selection of bonus options available with a standard wild, a standard scatter and a set of free spins that you get from activating the scatter. There's not even a multiplier or anything for the free turns, and that makes the game even more bland. They could have definitely done more to make this game a bit more exciting on the gameplay side, but they should also get credit for the theme and visual presentation.
