Dragon- and Asian-themed games seem to be all over the place when it comes to the online slots world, and Dragon's Wild Fire combines them both. This game by Mazooma features some very powerful graphics, even when you look at the low paying symbols, and it's a great example of taking what would otherwise be a somewhat plain and boring theme and turning it into a title that's worth at least a little bit of excitement thanks to its great graphics and action-filled gameplay.

    Format and Layout

Five reels, three rows and 20 paylines make up the basic layout for this game. You can bet between one and 500 units on each payline, and the units can be determined inside of the casino software at various stakes. You can play for as low as $0.20 per spin, which is plenty low enough for even penny stakes player. Even though the action is fierce in this game, the betting range is still wide enough to let in a lot of players at a lot of different stakes, no matter if you play for pennies or if you're a high roller.

    Main Symbols

There are two key symbols in this game that tie into one of the two main bonus features. The first is the wild symbol, and it has an atypical payout structure that's very balanced. Five of a kind earns 500x, four earns 400x, and three even picks up 100x, which is high for just three of a kind in an online slot (see more here). You can also win for just two of a kind for a 2x win.

The dragon symbol is similar in that it has a flat payout structure to a large degree. The 400x win for five dragons and 200x payout for four dragons are both pretty nice. You can also win 50x for three or 2x for just two. The wild and dragon symbols are the only two symbols that pay out for just two of a kind in this game.

    Flaming Respins Feature

The Flaming Respins feature is one of the two key features of the game. The dragon symbols show up as stacked in this game, and when you get a full reel of them, it triggers this feature. All of your normal pays (if you make any) are paid out first, and then you get a respin with all of the dragon and wild symbols made sticky.

They stay in place during the respin, and for every extra wild or dragon you get, you get another respin. Once there are no extra respins, you'll get paid out for your winnings again based on the resulting symbols, and this can lead to some sizable payouts because of the accumulation of the wild and top non-wild symbol in the game.

    Other Payouts

The firebird symbol pays out 300x for five and 140x for four. You can also pick up 250x for five of the gold and red medallion, and this drops down to a respectable 100x when you get four of a kind. The same 250x/100x payout set is available for the blue and silver medallion for five of a kind and four of a kind, respectively.

The stylized A, K, Q, J and 10 symbols all look great in a very expressive font with bold colors. The A and K get you 200x for five, and you can pick up 100x for five of the Q, J or 10. It's worth pointing out that all of these other symbols pay out for three of a kind or more only.

    Free Spins

If you get three of the yin-yang symbols on the reels at once, then you earn seven free spins. These symbols show up on the first, middle and last reels only. You get an option to have all of the wilds creep in a particular direction during these free spins, and we suggest you have them come to the left to make it easier to hit a number of the lower wins all at the same time.

Dragon's Wild Fire is an interesting slot in that it has what could be considered a somewhat generic theme, but it still manages to bring some very intense gameplay. This is a solid game that we think will appeal to a wide range of players because of the way the balanced pay table combines with the feature set to offer chances to hit some significant winnings in a single spin.
