Red Tiger Gaming knows how to make online slots that center around a great visual presentation and a solid set of features. They don't need fancy brands from popular media to make their games work, and that's proven once again with their Reactor video slot.
This game centers around a type of energy reactor, and you'll see a lot of abstract, scentific-looking symbols on the reels. The gameplay is fast-paced as well with lots of chances to hit a variety of features, which means plenty of opportunities to get paid in a serious way.
Format and Game Layout
This title has been set up to have a format that's pretty simple for players to get into. You'll have five vertical reels of symbols with three rows. There are 20 paylines, without the ability to change how many are active at any givne time, and they pay both left to right and right to left. The set of five smaller symbols across the top of the reels are for the features, and we'll get more into those down below.
Players can bet from $0.20 per spin at a minimum, but the maximum wager will depend on which casino you're playing with. You'll usually have a maximum in the range of $20 to $100 per turn just depending on where you're at. All winnings are multiplied by the total wager, so you don't have to worry about any line bet math when figuring out your payouts.
Wild Symbols and Payouts
There are two key symbols in this game that you'll always be happy to see on the reels. The first is the wild. It shows up as sort of a huge chemical reaction in progress with a light blue glow, and it also appears on each reel and substitutes for anything but the battery scattered bonus symbol.
There's a 500x win waiting for you when you line up five of this wild symbol on an activated payline. Four of a kind earns you 200x, and three of a kind is worth 80x. You'll always be paid the best possible win on each payline in each direction no matter how the wilds fall, so you don't have to worry about missing out on valule along these lines.
Batteries and Features
The number of scattered batteries that you get anywhere on the reels determines which features you get for that spin. The first gives a free respin, and the second gives a symbol swap for better payouts. Random wilds and a mega wild come for the third and fourth, and the fifth gives you a random wild worth up to 10x.
These features are accumulative and always go in the above order. For example, three batteries means that you will get the first three features only, but they all come at the same time (ie: respin, symbol swamp and random wilds). With all five together, you're promised to get a lot of sizable wins.
Other Payouts and Prizes
The four reactor symbols are most easily identified by color. The green one pays 400x for five of a kind, and you can earn 320x for five of the yellow one that's in more of a triangular shape. The red square symbol pays out 240x for five of a kind, and five of the purple circle gets you 160x.
From there, there are four gems in the same colors but that are smaller and simplier in design. The green and yellow gems are worth 90x and 70x, respectively, for five of a kind combinations. You can also pick up 50x for five of the red or 30x for five of the purple for this symbol.
Our Thoughts
The star of the show for the Reactor video slot by Red Tiger Gaming is obviously the set of battery symbols and the features that come along with them. This is a really smart way to give players feature-based value since they can all happen at the same time, but it also adds a level of excitement that you don't normally see because of how easy it is to trigger some of the features with just one or two of the battery scatter symbols.
