Frog GrogPlay free game
Whenever you see a game that seems to be based around potions, frogs and other magical items, the first thing you might think is Halloween. However, the Frog Grog slot by Thunderkick doesn't really have Halloween overtones, and it stands out on its own with a theme that's a bit on the fresh side. You'll have many different potions and magical ingredients on the reels in this game, but there's no witches or wizards or ghosts or vampires or goblins in sight. All you can really see in the background are some shelves and books, but in the foreground down the left-hand side, you'll see a multiplier meter that's the key to lots of value in this game.
The layout of this game starts with five reels and three rows. However, this video slot has an atypical number of paylines with 23. Unlike many slots with atypical or uneven numbers of paylines, this game does not force you into awkward bet sizes. Instead, the bet sizes are chosen per spin in a way that is completely independent of the number of paylines, and all of your wins are based on multiples of your bet size per spin. You get a total of 14 betting options that span from $0.10 to $100 per turn, but for the sake of talking about the winning payouts here, we're going to assume we're betting $1. You can scale your wins up and down accordingly based on your own bet size in this game.
Multipliers and the Rolling Symbols Feature
What you will notice the very first time that you get a winning spin in this game is that the symbols for the winning combinations clear away with new symbols falling into place after the payouts are counted. The multiplier will also increase on the left-hand side, which is applied to all of your wins for the first re-spin. If you get a second re-spin it will increase to 3x along similar lines. The next two multiplier levels are 5x and 7x, and they are obviously opportunities to get paid in a major way.
There are lots of different names for this type of feature, but Thunderkick calls it Rolling Symbols.
Wild Symbol Functionality
The frog symbol is wild in this game, though it does not get its own payouts. However, its functionality is very important in the context of the Rolling Symbols feature. Whenever it appears on the reels, it starts off as being sort of a red and orange color. Once the winning combinations for that same spin are calculated, it will breathe fire up, down, left and right, which will clear out any remaining non-wild symbols in the way. This allows more symbols to fall down for the Rolling Symbols feature.
After it bellows fire once, it won't do it again in future re-spins. However, it will turn blue, and then it can disappear by being a part of a winning combination in future re-spins.
Another Bonus Feature
Players can earn the Mystery Bonus Feature at random after any completed spin. It essentially takes three to five matching minor symbols on the reels and gives you the respective payout for them. It's more or less just another way to give you value, and there's not very much to it other than that.
Five of the moth will give you the top regular payout worth 10x, and five of the flower pays out 6x. A 3.5x prize is good for five of the red potion, five of the purple potion pays 3x, and five of the green gets you 2.5x. Finally, you can get a payout of 2x for five of the blue one.
Thunderkick's Frog Grog slot is based on a lot of high-paced action that is driven from the re-spin feature. The Mystery Bonus Feature adds some extra value, but the higher multipliers are where the real value is. If you're a fan of low-volatility games with a lot of small and medium wins that hit quite often, then you'll find that this is definitely the type of game that you will enjoy. However, if you prefer high-volatility titles like progressive jackpot games, then you might want to skip this game and go for something else.
