There's a lot of talk about artificial intelligence and what could happen if we ended up in a war with machines. The Planet Fortune slot, available at Play'n Go casinos, has this type of fight at its core, but it also has a futuristic space theme to go along with that. The graphics have the typical futuristic Utopian feel to them, and that was a really smart move by the developers to fit the look and feel that people will remember from television shows and films about the same kind of scenario.
Format and Layout
This game gives you a format that creates a lot of action. You'll have five reels with four rows, and there are 40 paylines spread across this grid. It's important for us to point out that there is no way to adjust the number of paylines, so the only way to adjust the size of your bet is to adjust how much you're wagering in total among the choices listed down at the bottom of the screen.
Despite the fact that there are 40 paylines, you can still wager as little as $0.20 per turn. On the upper end, wagers go as high as $100 per turn. To keep things simple, we're going to be dealing with what the prizes are if you're wagering $1 per spin, which is like a $0.025 bet on each payline.
Magnetic Mayhem Feature
On each spin, you can randomly get two or three adjacent reels to become magnetized. When this happens, they will stick together to show the exact same symbols on each. This leads to giant-sized symbols that make multi-line payouts much easier to get than usual, and that's a strong source of value in this game as a whole.
Something that helps with this is that the item and character symbols show up as stacked. They will appear in stacks of two, three or four on every one of the reels, which in turn makes it much easier to get these super symbols like what we've described above. It also makes it easier to hit wins for the same symbols across multiple paylines.
Robot Revolution Feature
Three or more of the wild robot symbols on the screen at once will give you a shot at a free spins bonus feature. You're given 10 free spins, and it cannot be re-triggered. However, you'll have all of the wilds that appear, including the ones that kick off the feature, stay on the reels. They will move one spot to the left on each subsequent free spin. This makes it much easier to get payouts because you're guaranteed to get more wilds on each individual spin than you would have received without this feature, so the free spins bonus round is pretty valuable.
Wild Robot Symbols
There are two robots that are wild. The green robots are good, and the red robots are bad, but they pretty much do the same thing. Five of any combination of these wilds gets you 62.5x. Four is worth 6.25x, and three on a payline will earn 1.25x.
The man symbol holding a blaster gets you 18.75x for five of a kind. You can also earn 12.5x for five of the woman symbol or 7.5x for five of the purple gen. The blue gem gets you 5x when you line up five on a payline.
The orange A symbol starts off the card ranks, and it's worth a payout of 2.5x. This is the same pay for five of the teal K or the purple Q. The green J and violet 10 symbols are each worth half of that at 1.25x.
A smart selection of features have been combined in the Planet Fortune slot by Play'n Go, and it goes to show that the visual aspect and the theme aren't the only things this game have going for it. With that having been said, these aspects of the game are not bad at all, and we're fans of seeing this type of throwback theme to a type of program that is actually based on the future.
Between the graphics, the gameplay and the great use of the motif and setting, we think this is a fairly strong showing from this developer, and it definitely blows most of what many other companies are doing out of the water. However, it's far from their own best title.
