The tale of King Tut is a very popular Egyptian story, and Yggdrasil Gaming has brought it to life in a major way with their Tut's Twister video slot. This game is all about a fast-paced style of action, and the graphics look great as well. They've used the same 2D style of animation that we've seen in a few of their other titles, all of which have gotten great reviews for their aesthetically pleasing visual appeal. If you like games packed full of features, then this is a title that you should definitely check out.
Format and Layout
It's not hard at all to find bet sizes that work for you in this game because it uses a super flexible approach to setting bet sizes that you really don't find with many other software developers. Five reels and four rows make up the basic grid of symbols, and it has 25 paylines, which is honestly a bit atypical for games with four horizontal rows. With that having been said, the layout works really well with the features, so we don't really mind it being a bit different.
The minimum bet size per payline for this game is $0.004, and that lends itself to a $0.10 total wager per turn, which is pretty much as low as you can reasonably go with the pay table denominations. The maximum bet is $125 per spin with $5 line bets, and there are more than a dozen different options between these two extremes.
Tut's Twister Feature
The main gameplay feature for this title is where the name of the slot comes from in the first place. If you get at least two wild symbols on the reels, then you'll trigger this bonus feature, and here's how it works. The left-most wild on the reels turns into a solid column of wilds that stays in place as a twister. All of the rest of the wilds become walking wilds with re-spins, and the reels will spin (other than the wild one held in place) before the wilds move one space towards the twister. This process repeats until there are no other wilds left on the board. You can obviously run up some pretty tremendous payouts along these lines.
For every third wild symbol that appears on the reels, including the initial wilds that set the feature off, the multiplier will increase by a factor of one. New wilds can come onto the reels to get sucked into the twister to extend the re-spins feature and to help increase the multiplier as well.
The Last Chance and Final Spin
Once no wilds are left on the screen, players get one extra re-spin to try to land more wilds to continue the feature. If no more land, then you get one final spin after that where all of the wilds that were sucked into the twister are shot back out across the reels to give some serious chances for multi-line prizes and payouts.
Single Wild Random Features and Hieroglyphs
If you get just one wild on the screen during the base game, then you have a chance at a random feature. You can add one hieroglyph (see below), an extra wild to activate the twister or a random payout worth between 25x and 2,500x.
You can also collect hieroglyphs over time as you play, and that makes the twister stronger, which gives you more value. The ones you've collected and not collected appear over the top of the reels.
Payouts and Prizes
The red container of gems pays 130x for five of a kind, and you can win 120x for the purple symbol. The green ring gives players 110x with five, and five of the blue scroll gets you 100x. You can obviously tell how balanced these payouts are.
On the lower end of the pay table are card suits. Red hearts earn 35x for five, and five of the purple spade give you 30x. You can also earn 25x or 20x for five of the green club or blue diamond symbols, respectively.
Overview
We like Tut's Twister because of the combination of solid graphics and the exciting feature-based gameplay. The replay value of this title is pretty significant as well thanks to the ability to collect hieroglyphs over time to improve the value of the twister feature. Overall, there's a fair amount to enjoy about this title, and it's definitely one of the best with any type of Egyptian-related theme.
