In the video slot industry, there are a handful of types of features that we see pretty often. With the Wild Wheel slot, available at Push Gaming casinos, several of the most popular types of features are tied together in a way that we can't remember having ever seen before. As such, this game is very much feature-rich and particularly gameplay-oriented. The graphics are about average compared to other titles released around the same time because it's geared more towards a simple visual style instead of trying to wow players with aesthetics. As such, this title is much more about the playing side of the experience than how it looks.

Format and Layout

The layout for this game is really basic to allow for a lot of leeway for the features to work their magic. A total of 20 paylines are spread from left to right only across a five-reel, three-row grid of symbols. There are 12 bet sizes available that range from $0.20 to $100 each, and you will always have all 20 paylines activated with no option to change the number that you're playing on. The volatility of this game is very much middle-of-the-road with enough of a balance on the pay table and with the value the features offer that it most likely won't turn off many players for having swings that are too big or too small.

The Nudged Wild Symbols

On the second, third and fourth reels, there are wild symbols that appear in three positions stacked on top of each other. They form three parts of a wheel, which is where the name of the game comes from. If you get just one or two parts of the wild on the reels, then it'll nudge over to cover the whole reel. This basically amounts to an expanding wild, but the dynamic is a little different because it also shows up stacked on each of the three middle reels.

Wild Wheel Feature

When all three wilds show up and cover the middle three reels, they obviously give you at least four-of-a-kind wins (though five-of-a-kind wins become pretty easy to get since you only need to line up two symbols to get them). They also create a wheel, which takes you to the wild wheel bonus feature. This is a multi-stage feature where you can win free spins or instant payouts.

There are three wheel levels in this game. If you hit the arrow symbol, you'll move up to the next wheel for another spin. The further up you go in the levels, the better the prizes you can win. There are also instant wins and free spins available that can be won when this wheel spins.

Free Spins Bonus Round

If you get free spins from the wild wheel bonus feature, then you'll also be given a locking reels feature in the process. What this means is that three reels will lock together and show the same symbols on them on each spin. This drastically increases your value for these spins because it makes it so much easier to get winning combinations, and it also increases the size of the winning combinations that you will get, on average.

Important Wins and Combinations

The payouts in this game are described as a multiple of the overall bet size. You can get 30x for five of a kind of the golden safe, and it drops down to 20x for five of the piggy bank. You can also earn 15x for five of the briefcase of cash on an activated payline along with 7.5x for five of the gold bar on same. The stack of paper bills and the stack of gold coins will give you 5x or 3.75x for five, respectively.

When you move down to the card ranks, the red A symbol earns 1.5x for five. Five of the orange K symbol gets you 1.25x, and you can get a simple 1x payout for five of the orange Q or green J symbols.

Overview

Push Gaming's online slot Wild Wheel is a fun title because it fits so many different features into one package in a way that makes a lot of sense. The graphics are pretty plain, but it's a slot that's centered around the gameplay, so that's not such a big deal. If you like feature-centric options that are full of ways to win outside of the main pay table, then this is the type of game that you'll probably like.
