Anyone who is familiar with farming can tell you that rabbits getting into your crops can be a major pain. In the Fat Rabbit slot, available at Push Gaming casinos, you'll actually want the rabbit to hop over the fence and gobble up some carrots so that you can run up some pretty big payouts. The format of this game is larger than usual, and the 2D "vector" style of graphics makes it stand out, as does the atypical play style that comes from the feature set. All in all, this game brings a fun type of experience to the reels with a lot of action.

Game Format

This game looks like it might be one of those that pays based on clusters instead of paylines, but that assumption would be incorrect here. There are actually five reels and five rows of symbols, and you will find that 50 paylines run from left to right across them. Push Gaming has set this title up to use bet sizes worth $0.25 to $100, and it's cool that the minimum bet size is $0.25 in spite of the fact that there are 50 lines to bet on in this game.

We want to point out that this game uses payouts based on the whole bet size instead of the wagers on each individual line. As such, we're going to list out win sizes based on bet sizes of $1. You'll have to scale your pays up or down proportionately

Wild Rabbit Symbols

The rabbit is obviously the center of the action in this game since it's named after him. He's apparently been doing a good job of getting into the fields and gardens because he is one fat rabbit. Five of a kind of this guy on a payline earns you a 20x win, which would be 1,000x if it used line bet descriptions of payout sizes. Players can earn 4x for four of a kind and 0.80x for three of a kind as well. However, you should note that it's possible to win three of a kind multiple times for mostly the same symbols because of how much the paylines overlap each other, so that's something to keep in mind with these wins.

Harvest Bonus Feature

During any random spin while the reels are still going, you can activate the Harvest Feature. This will have a tractor pull through the reels and drop carrots on the symbols at random. These carrots are wild symbols as well, and they can combine with the rabbits to give you wild payouts.

Free Spins Bonus Round

If you get a wild carrot symbol on the reels at the same time as a rabbit, then you'll trigger a free spins feature. During this feature, if a carrot symbol shows up, the rabbit will show up to eat it and expand in size to 2x2 and 3x3. A meter at the bottom of the reels will indicate how many carrots have been eaten and how larger the rabbit is getting. Whenever it increases in size, you get more free spins added to your total.

Payouts and Prizes

The farmer is pretty angry about the rabbit eating up all of his carrots, and you can see it on his face. He gives the same wins as the wilds with 20x for five of a kind. His dog helps him to try to catch the rabbit, and for some reason he's purple, but he pays you 16x for five on a payline. Five of the bucket of water can get you a 10x prize, and you can also earn 6x for five of a kind of the stacked blocks of hay.

Four different card suit symbols make up the bottom set of pays on the lower tier. The heart and spade, in red and yellow, get you 2x for five of a kind of either. Five of the green club or green diamond will earn 1.60x as well.

In Summary

We like what Push Gaming has done with the Fat Rabbit video slot because it incorporates some familiar gameplay ideas in a different way than you normally see on a format that's also different from what you normally see. Add to the whole situation that they went with a high-quality style of graphics that doesn't ride the 3D bandwagon, and you get something that feels fresh compared to the competition despite the fact that it's not completely "outside of the box." It's balanced enough that we think it'll appeal to virtually any type of slot fan, but there may not be enough excitement with the features to sustain a serious replay value.
