The Celestial King slot, available at SG Interactive casinos, stands out for a few different reasons. First off, it's look is very solid as far as games go that have Asian types of themes, and it doesn't rely on anything generic in the least bit. Second, the mix of features it has is also very different, and you won't find anything quite like it anywhere else online. Add this to the way the top jackpot works, which we'll discuss when looking at the wild symbols below, and you have a fairly unique experience waiting on you whenever you want to play it.

Slot Layout

The layout here is the same during most of the game with one exception, which we'll get to in our notes below. There are three rows of symbols with five reels, and you'll have 30 paylines. However, there's a side bet that's forced for the feature that makes you bet 50 coins per spin, so you may want to adjust your bet size down to account for that a bit. Regardless, the minimum wager is $0.50 per turn, and you can make it worth up to $100 per spin as well.

Jackpot Values

The first thing most players will notice is the set of four jackpots listed at the top of the reels. You'll also notice that the values don't change, and that's because they're not actually progressive jackpots. Instead, they're tied to how the jackpot wild symbol works.

You can win a strong top jackpot for getting five of a kind of the jackpot wild symbol. This is almost identical to the regular wild symbol, which is the character standing on top of the reels during regular gameplay. Five of a kind earns 5,000x, and four of a kind pays just 3x. You can win 1.5x for three and 0.10x for two of a kind.

For the regular wild, all of the payouts are the same except for five of a kind. It will only get you 5x. Neither of the wilds substitute for the scattered blue symbol or the bonus symbol with the laughing dragon on it.

Free Spins Mode

At least three of the bonus symbol on the reels triggers a set of eight free spins. Three or more during those free spins adds even more free spins. While no multiplier is given, there is an alternative set of reels used that gives you much better payouts, on average, so you're getting quite a bit of value. All of the winning combinations are the same except that the jackpot wild does not appear during the free spins bonus feature.

Scatter Bonus

The blue symbol encased in gold is the scatter symbol in this slot. You'll get it stacked at times, and you need at least five anywhere on the reels to trigger this feature. The second, third, fourth and fifth reels expand to hold four, five, six and seven symbols for this scatter feature.

Only the character and the scatter show up. The characters don't pay during this mode, but the scatters do. You get three re-spins with the scatters being held in place, and the more scatters you get on the reels during this mode, the more money you get. It's a pretty fun feature that's different than what you normally see, and it makes good use of all of that extra space above the reels that's a part of the game's atypical format.

Other Payouts

The three main symbols outside of the bonus symbols and wilds are the priestess, the pig and the medal. They pay out 3x, 1.8x and 1.5x, respectively, for five of a kind. These are balanced, mid-level payouts that work well to balance the whole pay table.

The coins and lotus symbols give 1x for five of a kind as well, and you can get 0.6x for five of the A or K with 0.4x for five of the Q or J.

We should point out that the free spins bonus symbol also gives payouts of 15x, 10x or 5x for five, four or three, respectively, no matter where they appear on the game's reels.

Our Thoughts

We like how Celestial King breaks out away from the pack with how its features and how it awards its jackpots are completely different. SG Interactive has definitely set things up on the gameplay side so that this title stands out from most of what's already available, and that will definitely give players something to look forward to in the replay value department.
