It's time for a trip to mythological land called Nibelheim. Not many people know of this rich land filled with treasures. Ruled by the king Nibelung, the land welcomes visitors from all over the world to enjoy the beauty of Nibelheim.

Theme and Symbols

Nibelungen is an online video slot made by Swintt software developer. The theme of this online slot is Norse mythology, specifically Nibelheim, a mythical place where descendents of dwarves once lived.

The land and all of the Nibelungens live in prosperity and are blessed with good fortune. The reels are placed between two trees in a magical wood. Their thick logs speak of their long history and existence. The music is light, a traditional Skandinavian type of music.

An image of a Sword divided by Blue and Red colors is the game’s Wild Symbol but it also acts as a Scatter and pays out on its own. As a Wild it has the ability to replace all other icons to help finish a winning line and as a Scatter it is the key to triggering main features.

Then, we have the King, the Queen and the Prince making up for the character symbols on the pay table. The King is by far the most worthy while the least paying icons are represented by A, K, Q, J and 10 royals.

Aside from the Symbols stated above, you’ll also see the Dragon.

Betting Options and Features

Nibelungen is a 5 reels, 3 rows online video slot with 5 fixed pay lines. This means that the number of pay lines in play is fixed and can’t be changed.

The title is mobile friendly and is playable from the least betting amount of €0,05 and a maximum bet per spin of €100,00. Theoretical return to a player is slightly below the average of 96%, sitting at 95,13%.

The previously mentioned Sword Symbol acts as both Wild and Scatter and whenever you manage to land 3 of those anywhere on the reels the game’s main feature occurs. You’ll be asked to choose between Siegfried and Kriemhild Free Spins.

Should you choose the Siegfried option, you’ll be presented with a Dragon Wheel which will determine which Symbol will become Lucky and gain the power of Expanding to cover the whole reels.

Once the Lucky Symbol is chosen, you’ll be presented with another wheel which will determine the number of Free Spins you’ll be getting. You can win 8, 10 or 12 spins free of charge.

If you opt for Kriemhild Spins, the process is more or less the same with the exception of Lucky Symbol. Here, you’ll get the Wild Symbol which can expand to cover the whole reels and the number of Free Spins in play varies from 6 to 25.

Our Take

It’s been a while since we last reviewed such an interesting game. The theme of this online slot is very attractive and for all of those who enjoy Norse Mythology, Nibelungen might just be your cup of tea.

Statwise, the game’s RTP is the only downside we’ve been able to detect and if that’s simply not good enough for you, we recommend that you check out other Swintt’s releases.
