Once Again Upon a Time™ by BetSoft opens like a storybook but plays like a high-stakes quest. Set across five reels and 25 paylines, this sequel returns to its medieval kingdom with sharper volatility and feature-driven intensity.
With a 96.11% RTP (read more about RTP HERE) and very high volatility, the slot favors players willing to navigate quieter stretches in pursuit of larger feature rewards.
Theme and Symbols
Stacked Mystery Symbols prepare the reels before every spin, replacing marked positions with a single randomly selected symbol. When alignment hits, full-reel combinations become possible, amplifying impact.
Wild symbols support standard wins, while SCATTER and BONUS symbols carry the narrative forward.
Betting Options and Special Features
Landing six BONUS symbols, or five BONUS plus a BOOST, triggers the Hold & Win Feature with three respins. Locked symbols remain as new ones land. BOOST enhances all current BONUS values.
Mystery Bonus symbols may transform into fixed jackpot tiers — MINI, MINOR, MAJOR, or MEGA — adding unpredictability without clutter.
Three SCATTER symbols award eight Free Spins featuring only high-paying symbols. This refinement shifts focus to premium outcomes. Royal Fortune mechanics introduce additional bonus access opportunities during regular play.
Buy Bonus offers direct access to Hold & Win, letting players skip chapters and jump into the decisive act.
Conclusion
Once Again Upon a Time™ feels structured rather than chaotic. It builds tension through volatility rather than constant noise. Among Betsoft’s feature-centric games, this slot delivers a focused fantasy experience where patience often precedes payoff.
