In the online slots industry, it can seem like the same themes are used over and over again. Basically every software provider out there today has an Egyptian slot, a Greek slot, a Roman slot, a lot about animals, etc. GAMING1 really tries to stand out from the crowd by picking atypical theme, and Mojo Spin is an awesome example of that. The theme of this game is a sort of cajun bayou voodoo, and you'll see a lot of superstitious symbols and other types of symbols with this game. It's a very interesting motif with excellent graphics and sound, and the overall presentation sets the stage for a very fun experience.

Format and Layout

The layout of this game is pretty straightforward, and you'll have five reels with three rows and 10 paylines. Your minimum bet size per spin is $0.20, and the maximum bet size per spin is $25. This might not cover the highest of high stakes players, but it'll cover the other 99.9 percent of players just fine in terms of having bet sizes available that they can feel comfortable with. Just having 10 paylines is somewhat atypical in the industry as far as video slots go, but they make up for it by giving you a lot of action in other ways.

At this point in this review, we need to point out that GAMING1 does not list their payouts in terms of line bet wagers, which is the industry standard. Instead, all of their payouts are listed as a multiple of your total overall bet size. We actually prefer this approach since it gives a more clear idea of what you'll win with respect to how much you're wagering, but keep this in mind whenever you see payouts listed in the following paragraphs. For reference, you can multiply any of these wins by a factor of 10 to get what the line bet win would be for comparison.

Free Spins Bonus Feature

The voodoo doll is the bonus symbol for this game, and three or more will trigger a set of free spins. You'll pick up 10 free spins no matter how many bonus symbols you used to trigger the feature, and this puts you in a position to take advantage of the fire wisps. These show up on each spin and give you extra wilds anywhere on the reels. You can add extra free spins on by re-triggering the feature with the bonus symbols as well.

Important Payouts

There are several important wins in this game. First you have the wild Mojo Mask symbol that pays 1,000x (equivalent to a 10,000x line bet win) as the top jackpot for five of a kind. He substitutes for anything but the bonus symbol, but he also has the ability to pay out for just one of a kind or more.

The bonus symbol can give you 400x for five of a kind, and Baron Samedi (the green symbol) pays out 300x for five. Mama Voodoo has the blue background, and she's good for a 50x win for five of a kind. The Voodoo Doll, Baron Samedi and Mama Voodoo all pay out for just two of a kind or more. You can also pick up 50x for five of the chicken foot or bottle.

Rounding out the bottom end of the payout table in this video slot is the A and K symbols, which pay 25x and 20x for five of a kind, respectively. Five of the Q also earns you a win worth 20x, and five of the J or 10 pays 10x. These are actually really good payouts for the bottom-end wins, and with the equivalent line bet wagers, this is like getting a 100x win for the two lowest symbols in the game.

In Summary

GAMING1 has done an excellent job with Mojo Spin. This game brings together a very atypical theme with excellent graphics, fun gameplay and an interesting cast of characters with typical symbols on the reels. The bonus feature packs a lot of value as well, and the top jackpot is very reasonable. If you want to play this title, your best bet is to check out casinos that use the Microgaming Quickfire platform, and this is because GAMING1 has a content distribution agreement with them. Overall, this is definitely a game to try because of its gameplay values and visual appeal.
