Stylish and vintage-looking, Retro Neon brings a fruit slot machine with a classic layout of 5 reels and 3 rows.

The name of the game fits, as it is not solely layout that is classic here. The entire design, from the use of the good old fruits on the reels to the square, neon-lit machine that reminds of the disco craze of the '80s, feels like a callback of the days long gone.

This slot release is brought by iGaming software developer Playreels, a well-known name in the world of the video slots. As is usually the case with their titles, it works as well on mobile devices as it does on the desktop.

Theme

While it is a common practice for new slot titles that pay homage to the classic slots with the BAR and fruit symbols to mix it up with some unique symbols as well, this is not the case here.

Fruits, sevens, Royals, and BARS spin in their colorful, neon-lit glory, accompanied by the bell symbol. From the use of the font for the game's title to the sparkly, purple background and blue slot machine, the visual element is truly on-point.

Given the whole classic and retro vibe of the release, the rather generic music, kind of which was heard many times in older slot titles, still manages to work well.

How Much Can You Bet And What Features To Expect?

The betting range in terms of coins goes from 0.1 to 2.0 on 243 betways. When it comes to cash the range is $0.25 to $50, with the highest win rewarding 1000 times of the stake.

While the return-to-player of 95% falls below the average, the title seems to be well-balanced, delivering smaller wins on a basis that is considered to be acceptable.

As usual, the Royals pay the least, ranging from x3, x10 and x25 of the bet, depending on whether 3, 4 or 5 lands on the reels for the 9, 10 and J symbols, while Q, K and A pay a bit more, ranging from x4 over x15 to x40, depending on how many of them land.

Plum and cherry pay x10, x75, and x250, and, as normal, bell, BAR symbols, and lucky seven pay the most. Lucky seven stands at the top with x50, x250, and x1000 of the placed bet.

In terms of features, things are kept very simple. There are no scatter symbol, nor progressive Wilds.

The Wild substitutes for any other symbol on the reels, making for better combinations.

Only other special feature this slot title offers is the bonus game called Neon United Reels feature. When activated, the two extra reels will appear with the potential to expand up to three, four, or five reels during the spin.

To Conclude

While it becomes more and more popular to release slot games that offer many different bonus games and a plethora of features, Retro Neon is a complete opposite, bringing a simple, yet entertaining and graphically modern slot title.

While it doesn’t bring the most exciting and dynamic experience imaginable, it should be attractive to those who like modern releases with a classic vibe to them.
