One of the things that hasn't gotten much play in the online slots world is games based on anime themes. The CrypCrusade video slot, available at Ganapati casinos, breaks with that trend, and it shows that players can get in on the action with anime-themed characters and animals with a lot of action. The gameplay centers around a high hit-rate and a low volatility, but there are still some pretty significant payouts that can be had. This title is a good example of the balance between strong graphics and a solid play style, and it shows what can be done if they come together in a smart way.

Format and Layout

The format for this game is based around five reels of action. There are 50 fixed paylines spread across three rows, so they're packed tightly together with a lot of overlap. This is a key component of the gameplay, as you will see down below. Betting is set up so that you can wager the equivalent of between $0.01 and $2 per payline on each spin. A little bit of simple math will tell you that this leads to the minimum wager being $0.50 on each spin with a maximum of $100 per turn.

Wild Symbol

The wild symbol in this game looks like a raging red demon of sorts, and it also looks somewhat like versions of Ifrit if you're familiar with his usage in Japanese video games and the like. He appears on the third, fourth and fifth reels only, which puts him in position to help players to extend the length of winning combinations. It's a cool way to handle the wild that's a bit different than most other titles, but there's a bit more to the symbol than that.

It's also important to point out that these wild symbols show up stacked. The only symbol it doesn't substitute for is the scatter, which is pretty normal in the industry as a whole, but it makes it much easier to hit multi-line wins, particularly those that are four of a kind or five of a kind combinations.

Scatter Symbol and Free Spins

The symbol that looks like a blue or purple dragon looking to the right of the reels is the scatter in this game. You will get regular payouts from this scatter, and it will help you out by activating the free spins bonus round if you get three or more anywhere on the game board. During these free spins, extra wilds show up on the second, third, fourth and fifth reels to make these spins worth more than their normal counterparts.

You cannot re-trigger the feature by getting more scatter symbols. However, something you can do is run up some very serious wins with all of these extra wilds, which are then combined and added to your overall total.

Important Wins and Prizes

The wild doesn't give payouts, but the scatter does. A 20x prize is yours for five of a kind, anywhere on the game board, and you'll also pick up 10x for four or 2x for three of a kind. This is in addition to the free spins that are triggered as well.

From there, you get 8x for five of the purple woman along with 6x for five of a kind combinations of the grey man. The blue woman gets you 4x, as does five of the woman in white facing the player. The last of the character symbols is the man in black on a red background, and he earns 3x when you line up five of a kind.

The rest of the pay table consists of six different symbols in a fun style that looks great and matches the overall feel of the game. A prize of 2x is yours for five of the blue sword, purple wings or orange cross. It drops just slightly to 1.5x when you get five of a kind combos of the green shield, red winged boot or yellow lightning bolt.

Overview

The CrypCrusade video slot by Ganapati is a great example of a title that uses anime graphics with some decent features to create a solid overall experience. The graphics are probably the main selling point here because the features don't really break any new ground, but with such an overwhelmingly strong visual appeal, that's pretty reasonable. If you're the type of player who likes anime-inspired video games, you'll really like the look and feel of this title and the symbols on it.
