With the Platooners slot, a game produced by ELK Studios, players get to see some real action. A set of cartoon army men are taking on the evil Snakes of Fortune, the bad guys for this fictional universe which is suspiciously like the G. I. Joe serious, and that means that you get to profit from the conflict by being on the side of the good guys. Game Format

The format here is a little different. There are five vertical reels, and you'll have four horizontal rows of symbols across those reels. From there, you can pick from 12 different total bet sizes per spin, and all of your payouts will be based on multiples of that bet size overall. We feel like this is plenty wide enough for virtually all players to have bet sizes that work out well for them.

Meet the Platooners

There are three Platooners symbols that make up the good guy side of the equation for this game. You'll find that each of them will trigger a feature at random on random spins to give you better odds of winning. The green one signals the rockets feature, which fills the first and third reels with all matching symbols to make winning combinations easier to come by. The red one gives players the grenades feature, and it adds more wild symbols to the third, fourth and fifth reels for that spin. Finally, the bullets feature is triggered by the yellow one, and he will generate five-of-a-kind wins from a randomly chosen symbol from the first reel as a sort of instant payout.

Snakes of Fortune Bonus Feature

There's a snake scatter symbol with crosshairs on it, and it's the scatter. Three or more will give you a shot at the bonus feature, and getting four or five will give you more attacks each round during that feature. You'll start with 15 rounds of ammo, and you'll gain mystery coins during a free spins mode as you fight off the baddies. Three different levels of play get harder over time with better rewards the further you make it. Four Betting Strategies

Something cool that this game offers is an option to pick from four different betting strategies, though you can just have it so none of the four are chosen. What these strategies do is change your bet sizes for you automatically based on certain conditions. The optimizer, leveller, booster and jumper strategies will behave differently based on your wins, losses and a percentage of your account balance.

Wins and Payouts

The top regular prize is for the dog tags, and five of a kind on a line will get you a 1,000x win. You can also take down 500x for five of the combat knife, and the binoculars are worth 200x for five of a kind. You can also line up five of the medic bag for a 150x win.

For the card rank wins, all of the payouts are the same. The red A, blue K, purple Q and green J all give the same prize of 120x for five of a kind, and these are pretty good wins overall in terms of being balanced without the lower pays being too low.

Overview

The Platooners slot is pretty funny in how it takes a military fighting theme and throws a cartoony style on it. ELK Studios has definitely put this game together in a way that offers both a strong visual style and a fun, feature-based gameplay style. The different number of paylines combined with the random features really drive this game home as having a unique experience that it offers players as well.
