Pragmatic Play Shifts Focus Back to Core Casino Products
Pragmatic Play, the renowned game provider headquartered in Gibraltar, has unveiled a new strategic direction that emphasizes its core competencies. Following a comprehensive internal review, the company has decided to discontinue several of its products in favor of strengthening its focus on their well-established and successful offerings.
As the company pivots, it will gradually phase out its sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports categories, while reinforcing its dedication to slots, live casino, crash games, and RNG products.
Supportive Transition for Partners
A representative from the company elaborated on the decision: "Following a strategic review, we have made the decision to focus on our core market-leading verticals – in particular, slots, live casino, crash and RNG. These areas continue to demonstrate strong performance and represent the company's primary long-term strategic focus."
As a result, Pragmatic Play will withdraw its Bingo and Sportsbook products following a transition period. During this time, they are committed to assisting their partners as they adapt to new platforms. The process of transitioning will roll out over several months, with the organization working in partnership with operators to facilitate a seamless migration to alternative solutions.
Emphasis on Slots and Live Casino
Pragmatic Play first dabbled in expanding its offerings by launching a bingo platform in 2018 and entering the sportsbook market in 2022. However, driven by the desire to consolidate its leading market position, the company is now returning to its roots in casino-focused verticals. Since its inception in 2015, Pragmatic Play has climbed the ranks to become a significant player in online gambling, primarily due to its popular slot games.
Although the company initially expanded into both live casino and various sports offerings to cater to market demand, the strategic decision to recenter its operations aligns with areas demonstrating robust growth. Live casino operations, in particular, have emerged as a pivotal growth driver for the company. The company acknowledges the increasing demand for localized live dealer content in regulated markets, which has only grown stronger recently.
Earlier in the year, Chief Revenue Officer Mark Maislish announced plans to open two new live casino studios. This announcement follows the establishment of a live casino facility in Bogotá, Colombia, in October 2025. Pragmatic Play's focus on live casino indicates its commitment to developing content suited to specific jurisdictions, especially as regulations expand across Latin America and operators pursue localized experiences.
Although Pragmatic Play is stepping back from sportsbook, bingo, and virtual sports, it is not necessarily scaling back its ambitions. The company is reallocating resources to boost its core verticals, which include continued investments in product development, international studio networks, and localization initiatives.
Slots will remain a significant element of their portfolio due to their recognized performance within the industry.
