The game of Baccarat may seem elegant and complicated, but in truth it’s really no different than War or a coin toss. Less a game of strategy and more one of risk vs. reward, Baccarat is simple game loaded with entertainment value.

Online Baccarat Wagering and Payouts.

Table wagers will range from 1 credit to 500 credits, although most online baccarat tables initially limit play to 100 credits at the start. (You’ll know your limits based on the set table values in the upper left hand corner as well as which chips are available to you).

Payouts are based on how you wager. If you wager on the Player and win, you’ll receive even money on your bet. Winning wagers on Bankers will also receive even money, minus a 5% commission. Winning Tie wagers pay out 9:1.

How to Play Online Baccarat.

RTG lays out the rules and strategy of their online baccarat in their “Help” menu. In general, though, the game of baccarat begins with you choosing who you believe the winner of the hand will be-prior to seeing any cards.

You’ll choose “Player”, “Banker” or “Tie”.

Note that in this game, you are not the “Player”; rather, you are an observer of the table and where the cards are played (in other words, betting on “Banker” does not mean you are betting against yourself).

The goal of Baccarat is to correctly wager on the hand that scores the closest to nine points. Points are determined by the following values:

• Cards 2 through 9 are counted as their face value.
• Tens and Face Cards are given a “zero” value.
• Aces are counted as “1”.

Points are calculated by adding all the cards together. If the total equals a two-digit number, the second (tens) number becomes the value. For example, a total score of 17 would mean the hand is 7 points.
