There were a whole class of classic slots several decades ago in land-based casinos that used a specific set of symbols and visual motifs that have been captured in the Booster slot by iSoftBet. Along these lines, this game doesn't have the greatest graphics in the world in terms of being 3D or anything like that, but it does look particularly polished, and the graphical level is appropriate for the theme that this game uses. This throwback to the older days of three-reel games isn't without excitement, however, as it's completely packed with lots of features and fast-paced gameplay.

    Game Layout

Even though this game is based on a classic motif, it uses a standard video slot format. There are five reels, three rows and 25 paylines in this game. You'll find that the paylines are all fixed, and you'll always be betting one coin per line, so you're always putting up 25 coins at a time on every single spin. The coins themselves start at $0.01 and go up to $2 apiece. Your betting range is $0.25 to $50 per spin, which is plenty wide enough for every player at every level of stakes, and that's typical of iSoftBet to do.

    Bonus Features

There are several different bonus features available in this game, but they are all tied into the same symbol. The bonus lightning symbol appears on every single reel as a scatter. When you get three or more of this symbol, you'll be taken to a second screen where you'll see what amounts to a wheel that randomly determines your feature. The best payout to get is arguably the instant win of 6,000 coins, which is the largest payout you can get in the entire game without the help of multipliers.

However, there are also multiple free spins modes you can get. You can earn 15 free spins with no multiplier, 50 free spins with a 2x multiplier, 10 free spins with a 2x or 3x multiplier, or you can give five free spins with a whooping 5x multiplier. It's clear that there's a bit of variety being offered here, and your actual feature is chosen randomly from these options.

    Scatters During Free Spins

During the free spins bonus feature, the bonus symbol turns into a paying scatter. Five of a kind wins 30 times your total bet. You can also get 15 times your whole bet for four of a kind or 2x for three of a kind. These wins can be triggered with symbols located anywhere on the reels. It's worth mentioning as well that you cannot re-trigger the free spins.

    Top Wins and Payouts

One feature that you'll find missing in this game is a wild symbol. There are no wilds at all. However, the top symbol is a purple diamond, and it will get you 2,000x for five of a kind. It's the only symbol in the game that pays for just two of a kind or more as well.

You'll find two lucky sevens on the reels in this game too. The red seven pays 500x for five of a kind. It drops down to 200x for five of the cool blue seven. The star symbol will also get you 150x. At the bottom end of the pay table are the three bar symbols. The triple bar is worth 100x for five of a kind, and the double bar will get you 75x for five. Five of the single bar is worth a low 25x win. with only seven paying symbols, it's easier to line up winning combinations, especially since the top symbol only needs two of a kind for a win.

    Our Thoughts

With iSoftBet's Booster slot, you're getting a concept with a video slot that uses classic slot motifs. Other software providers have done this type of game as well, and it has its own sub-genre at this point. While the graphics are good for the concept, and while the feature has a lot of different ways to win, the lack of a wild symbol feels like it hurts this game a bit in terms of the overall action.

The whole idea behind this sub-genre is to bring more action with a classic feel, and without some kind of wild or other features on the reels, we're not sure that it has enough action to stand out. It's still a decent slot overall, but it feels a little lacking in the feature department during regular gameplay.
