• WMS expands reach with Betsson and Unibet

    19 October 2012

Williams Interactive, the internet gaming arm of WMS, announced this week that it has signed multi-year agreements with Bettson and Unibet. The agreements further beef up the lottery and slot machine company’s online portfolio, and take advantage of the recently acquired Jadestone gaming portfolio, which contains the popular games Wizard of Oz, Reel ‘Em In and Zeus.

Under the terms of the arrangements, both Bettson and Unibet will be granted non-exclusive access to Jadestone’s full portfolio. This non-exclusivity will allow WMS to continue to seek additional opportunities for distribution, while utilizing Betsson’s and Unibet’s combined reach of over 12 million registered players in over 100 countries.

Says Orrin Edidin, WMS president and CEO of Williams Interactive:

“We are delighted to expand our relationship with Betsson and Unibet; each of whom is among the world’s leading online casino operators with extensive customer bases through their various casino brands.

“This expanded relationship represents a meaningful expansion in the business-to-business growth of our interactive products and services. Importantly, together, we have the potential to deliver a significant increase in the slot experience that will soon be offered to their players.”

WMS Industries stock has grown steadily since the Oct 15th announcement. The new video slots are slated to be aunched at Betsson and Unibet casinos in the beginning of 2013. It appears that the new tagline for Williams Interactive–“Always in Play”–also applies to their business practices; the newest subsidiary of WMS Industries hasn’t looked backward since it was established in July 2012.

Since 2001, Betsson has offered a wide range of premier gambling products from sportsbook offerings to online casino games, poker, and bingo. The pairing with WMS also strikes an accord with their publicized goal of “growing fast both through direct and indirect business”. Utilizing “partner strategy”, Betsson strives to be at the top of its game and its competitors, and has so far done it successfully.

Unibet is a privately owned European gambling operator that offers products in over 27 different languages. Recently awarded a license to operate poker online in Belgium, Unibet will add the country’s players to its growing band of 6.7 million customers strong. Unibet’s products include live betting, pre-game sports betting, lotteries, poker, and casino games, all of which a played in more than 150 countries.
