Alexander Ambrose Chosen as SG Digital Chief Financial Officer

Scientific Games has been working on getting their newest division, SG Digital, completely off the ground. In doing so, they've needed to make appointments to key positions. The latest appointment along these lines was for the open Chief Financial Officer position, and it has been taken by industry veteran Alexander Ambrose.

What Ambrose Brings to the Table

Ambrose has a tremendous amount of experience in working with some of the biggest names in the online gambling industry. He was previously the UK Finance Director for Playtech, and he also had time as the Finance Director of Ash Gaming.

This experience will definitely come in handy as SG Digital seeks to "earn its keep," so to speak, by solving new challenges that emerge as they try to expand. At the same time, they'll need to maintain the cultivation of the players and jurisdictions they already have relationships with, and at this point, that also includes certain markets in the United States.

Big Business Moves

Something really interesting about the online gambling industry as a whole is that there aren't that many people who will be qualified for certain positions, relative to what you see in other industries. Because of this, talented individuals who are familiar about the business will always come at a premium, and that's also why you see so many top names make moves from one company to another over time.

It's something that's not completely unique to online gambling as an industry, but there aren't a lot of other businesses where this type of thing happens either.

Moving Forward

Scientific Games is really looking to move forward with their SG Digital subsidiary. They have work to do in iGaming and sports betting in particular, and this type of environment in dealing with multiple products at the same time is something that Ambrose has shown that he's capable of navigating well. That will be a key component in how they do coming into the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019, and they're hopeful that they can keep some momentum going well into the beginning of next year. If they can, then they will definitely make a big splash in the coming months.
