The "minions" from the Despicable Me series were funny, yellow creatures who were always getting into trouble. With the Cash Mix slot, available at Leander Games casinos, it would appear that they have used a similar concept with walking, talking bananas. The setting is the beach in a tropical area, and players will enjoy the bar scene with lots of ways to get paid while mixing up your favorite drinks thanks to the helpful banana crew. With gameplay features divided between the game's regular mode and a bonus round, you'll have lots of excitement in this title regardless of which stage of it you're in.

Format and Layout

The format used for this game has five reels, three rows and 15 paylines. You cannot change how many paylines are being used, not that you'd want to, and you have an option to change how much to wager on each line to determine your total bet size. The available line bet wagers go from $0.01 to $5 apiece, so you can wager between $0.15 and $75 total on each spin. This is a pretty wide range of available bet sizes, and you'll be able to find something that fits your comfort level with no problem as a result.

The Multiplier Sunrise Feature

The main gameplay feature that you'll interact with the most is the Multiplier Sunrise feature. The way this works is that getting a winning combination of any type will increase the multiplier meter on the right-hand set of the reels, which applies to the following spin. Getting multiple consecutive wins increases this up to a maximum of 5x. If you get a spin that does not include a payout, then it drops back down to 1x no matter which level it was on before.

It's really important that we point out something about this feature: If you're going to change your bet size, wait until you have the meter at 1x before you do it. Changing your wager when it's at 2x or higher will automatically drop it back down to the 1x level to prevent abuse.

Happy Hour Free Spins

The key bonus round for this game is the Happy Hour Free Spins mode. Getting three or more of the free spins scatter symbol, which is a pink and white beach ball with a golden bell on it, will give you between four and 15 free spins. The number of balls you use to activate the feature is the number of sticky wilds you get, and they take the place of those scatters on the reels for the duration of the feature.

You cannot re-trigger this feature because the free spins symbols don't appear during the free spins (except for the original ones that turn into sticky wilds for all of your free turns). However, all of your wins in this mode are given a 2x multiplier, and this stacks with the Multiplier Sunrise feature to give you total multipliers of up to 10x.

Key Symbols and Payouts

Crazy Chunk is the wild symbol, and when he appears, he'll sometimes become duplicated to give you extra wilds on the reels as well in the form of an expanding wild. Even with that being the case, however, he does not get his own payouts.

The prizes start with the ice cube, which gives you 200x for five, and the blue umbrella for your drink, which pays 150x when you line up five on a payline. Five of a kind of the olive or strawberry will pay 125x or 100x, respectively, as well. You can earn 80x when you get five of the lime slice.

The card rank symbols in this game are decorated as curved straws in different colors. We usually don't like card rank symbols in games when they come across as lazy, but they actually fit the theme of the slot really well here, and we like their visual appeal. The yellow A is worth 60x for five, an five of the red K or orange Q symbols will give you 40x or 30x, respectively. For the green J and blue 10, the payout is 25x for five of either.

Overview

The Cash Mix online slot by Leander Games is a title that has a somewhat goofy theme, but the execution is excellent on every level, so we can't complain at all. In fact, some of the best games out there are games with this type of combination of an atypical twist on a solid theme with strong overall features and gameplay, and that's why we can't blame lots of players for finding this title a lot of fun.
