NuWorks is known for producing games that focus primarily on uniqueness and solid gameplay than over-the-top graphics. The Fangtastic online slot is a good example of that. Format and Bet Sizing

The format is pretty straight forward: five reels, three rows and 243 ways to win. The 243-ways format essentially turns every symbol into a scatter that only pays left-to-right, and that adds a tremendous amount to the overall hit-rate. Bet sizes are chosen based on how much you want to bet total, starting with $0.25 per spin and going up to $125 per spin. Everything is based on multiples of 25, since that's how the payouts are determined. There's a wide enough betting range for all players. Also note that you don't need a minimum bet size to qualify for the progressives.

Symbols and High-End Pays

The female vampire with the tiara and purple dress is wild in this game. She pays 3,000x for five of a kind, 1,000x for four of a kind, 250x for three of a kind and 20x for just two of a kind. She's not the only symbol that pays for two of a kind, and most of the high-end symbols do as well.

For example, five of the silver casket will get you 1,000x, but just two wins 10x. Five of the old woman vampire with the wine glass and sack of A+ type blood will give you 500x for five of a kind or 5x for two of a kind. The man chained up and the gargoyle both pay 300x for five and 5x for two, to give you an idea of the symbols that pay two of a kind.

The headstone that reads RIP along with the set of three candles are also good wins with 125x for five of a kind. However, there are no two of a kind wins for these two symbols.

Low-End Wins

The A, K, Q, J, 10 and 9 symbols round out the lower end of the pay table. However, they are all offered up in a cool gothic font on different colors of brick castle walls, so they stand out from each other and don't run together in the least bit. None of these pay out five of a kind, but you can win with three or more on all of them.

The top payouts here are 100x for five of the A or K, 75 for five of the Q or J, and 50x for five of the 10 or 9. NuWorks has done a good job offering up multiple "layers" of wins in this game, and they weren't lazy with their symbol selection on any level.

Scatter Symbols and Features

The six-sided die on fire is the scatter in this game, and it also pays left-to-right only. Five of a kind gets you 25 times your total bet, which is the same as a 625x line bet win. You can win with two or more scatters, but the wild does not substitute for them.

If you pick up two or more scattered dice symbols from left to right, then you get a set of free spins. They'll all roll and then determine the number of free spins from their total. Some of the dice will then re-roll to determine your multiplier. You can win up to 66 free spins in this way with multipliers as high as 30x. This feature can be re-triggered to offer you more free spins on top of the ones that you've already earned as well.

Overview

The Fangtastic slot is a good example of NuWorks giving players a solid experience without having to come with graphics that are necessarily the best in the industry.
