World Cup Scratch Ticket Game
It's the most popular sporting event in the world, and it's rapidly becoming one of the most popular games at the world's top scratch game site, Prime Scratch Cards. It's the World Cup game, and unlike casino and poker sites who launched promotions in conjunction with the tournament and folded them after it was over, the scratch game continues to be a favorite even after the World Cup's conclusion this year.
The object of the game is to beat Brazil. Okay, so they were the 2002 champions, not the current ones. But who cares? The game's a lot of fun anyway. The setup has a goalie in front of the soccer net, and a crowd in the background. There are five soccer balls in front of you, the player. If you're familiar at all with the way soccer is played, suffice it to say the procedure is somewhat like a round of penalty kicks - you're going to launch each ball at the goal from short range, and the goalie is going to dive one way or the other in an attempt to make a save.
The player brings the cursor over the ball. after you've clicked the "Play" button, it takes the form of a soccer shoe, which is a nice effect. Just click, and it's a kick! You may score a goal, or you may not.
Up top is the scoreboard, which will show your score on the left, then two areas you will have to scratch off - Brazil's score (to find out if you're an overall winner), and the prize. The "Scratch All" mode does this automatically, and sends the penalty kicks sailing toward the goal in rapid fire succession, but in this reviewer's opinion, that takes a little of the fun out of it.
The World Cup game can be played in the following denominations, with the associated top prizes:
