Mobile Online Gambling Gets Another Player in Nevada
South Point Hotel Casino Spa became the fourth company in Nevada to launch a mobile wagering app on Tuesday, September 3rd. The service is available at five Nevada locations, four of which are in the heart of Las Vegas. The other three companies to do so are Cantor Gaming, Station Casinos, and William Hill.
Available for Android and Apple phones and tablets, the app is a free click away. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, it resembles the William Hill app that has been serving Las Vegas residents and guests for over a year. It features lines set by South Point, and provides features like the ability to deposit money, collect winnings, and play at every participating Nevada Sports Books casino, like the Cannery, Eastside Cannery, Rampart, and the Virgin River Casino located in Mesquite, Nevada. And at South Point, of course.
“Our guests have the opportunity to place their sports bets from home, while at South Point at dinner or at the bar,” said Ryan Growney, general manager of South Point, in the Review-Journal article. “By adding this new mobile betting application to our sports books offerings, we can showcase a new method of placing bets to sports fans throughout Nevada.”
While players outside of Nevada are welcome to open and fund accounts from anywhere, they will only be able to play for real money once their devices cross Nevada state lines.
We are still waiting to see what Caesars and MGM come up with, as they are two of the largest casino operators on the Strip who have yet to come to the table with a way to bet, collect, and play from a mobile device.
