GiG Gets Approval to Operate in New Jersey

Gaming Innovation Group, generally knownas GiG, has received big news recently. This news is that they have been approved to operate in New Jersey, one of the only states in the United States that offers regulated online casino play or other types of gambling online. This is part one of a two-part process for them, but it's still an enormous push in the right direction.

Two Parts to the Process

The first part of this process is sort of a preliminary one where they have received their transactional waiver. This shows that they are compliant with the rules of the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, known as DGE for short. What comes next is that a more comprehensive process is taken that will lead to them receiving their Casino Service Industry Enterprise License, which is the full-on version that is not preliminary at all. Regardless, they still have approval to start operating in the state under this transactional waiver, which was a process put in place to speed these types of things up.

Regulation in the United States

Regulation for online casino play in the US is pretty complicated because it's done on a state-by-state basis and not on a national level. While there is no law making online casino play illegal federally, it is illegal in some states, but others have completely regulated it. We do expect that the US will eventually move towards regulation as a whole, but until then, GiG getting their foot in the door in New Jersey is about the best they could ask for in terms of operating in the clear in the United States.

About Gaming Innovation Group

GiG is known for offering a tremendous platform that's been used at a number of big name online casino sites. You may recognize names like Super Lenny, Kaboo, Rizk, Guts and Thrills Casino, and they all use this supplier's platform. To get into the regulated markets in the United States gives them a foothold that will be important and fast-track them in the event that other regulated markets open up there in other states, so it's an important move in terms of long-term strategy as well.
