• Hollywood Poker Prepares for a WSOP Vegas Summer

    17 April 2011

With over 45 event packages waiting to be won, Hollywood Poker is chomping at the bit to get its logo-wearing players into the World Series of Poker, held this summer in Las Vegas. Scheduled qualifiers for the WSOP are being held daily and have buy-ins ranging from absolutely free to $320. We listed Hollywood Poker in our best places to qualify online for the World Series of Poker, and for good reason–there are lots of ways to win.

Hollywood Poker is offering online poker players a chance to get to poker’s main event via freeroll tournaments, but it will take a bit of preparation to qualify. Unlike Full Tilt Poker, which is hosting a series of accessible step-up freerolls for WSOP prize packages, Hollywood Poker is awarding freeroll tickets only to players who earn 1,000 poker points in April and/or May. While the “buy-in” is not as easy to come by, the tournament structure is much flatter–winners of the Hollywood Poker WSOP Freeroll Tournament get a direct ticket to the Main Event Satellite, which awards entry into the 2011 WSOP.

Players who win the Main Event Satellite will enjoy a $14,500 WSOP Package, which includes a 10-night stay at the Venetian Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas, $2300 in travel and spending money, and a $10,000 buy-in to one of the WSOP Main Event competitions in July. These tournaments occur every Sunday with the last chance to win one of the 9 big packages on June 5th.

Hollywood Poker is also giving away 36 Side Event packages worth $3600, which cover the $1,000 Side Event buy-in, Palazzo accommodations for a week, and spending money. Satellites for this prize are on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and run until Thursday, June 2.

Keep in mind, Hollywood Poker runs on OnGame software, which is not accessible to players from the United States.
