The object of the game Baccarat is to pick the hand that you think will be closer to the value of 9, yours (the player) or the dealer. You can place bets on Player, Banker or Tie.
The point value of the cards is: 10 - K = 0 points, Ace = 1 point and face value = point value on all other cards. So when you add the point value of each hand, 10's have no value. If you have a queen and a 4, your point value is 4. If the total points equals 10 you have a point value of 0.
Two cards are dealt per hand and if conditions are right a third card can be dealt depending on the hand status. If the Player or the Banker has a total of an 8 or a 9 they both stand.
The Banker can get a third card if the Player stands and the Banker's total is 5 or less. If the Player's total is 5 or less, then the Player gets a third card. There are more conditions which you should become familiar with once you get the basics of the game down.
